I. Overview

D-type hydrapulper is a new type high efficiency and energy saving vertical hydrapulper designed by digesting and absorbing the introduced technology. The operating principle is that the mechanical action by blade rotation inside and the centrifugal hydraulic power created by the impeller rotation to achieve size degradation and loosen the pulp. The equipment of this series adopts D-type structure tank and the bottom is provided with proper amount of baffle boards, which make the pulp flow direction different from that of traditional round pulp shredder, makes the pulp always flow to the center, increases the pulp level in the central portion and the impact frequency of pulp to impeller and enhances the pulp disintegrating capacity by 30%. The impellers adopt new type energy saving high efficiency blades and the internal and external double blades can save energy up to 25%, which enables this equipment ideal for the continuous or intermittent size degradation of sheet pulp, broken paper and waster paper.

III. Structure

This unit mainly consists of vertical D-shaped metal tank, impeller lined with cutter blades, sieve plate, frame and V-belt drive etc.

The tank is designed to be D-shaped structure and welded by steel plates. The bottom is welded with 3 baffle boards to alter the pulp flow direction, make the pulp sucked from the impeller center quickly, increase the impact frequency of pulp to impeller and enhance the pulp disintegrating capacity.

The impeller is designed into energy saving Vieques impeller in the form of integral steel casting. The front guide face has 15° bevel and lined with structural alloy steel cutter blades to create local high strength turbulence. The blade and impeller radial axle form a 30° included angle and extend outward. The return current wing panels are provided for the blade at intervals to save power and enhance the circulation. The mechanical pulping action will occur between the alloy blade and sieve plate. The blade can be replaced after abrade and a 3mm distance between the blade and lower edge of impeller should be maintained to form zone of negative pressure between the impeller and sieve plate during slewing to avoid screen blinding.

The gap between the blade and sieve plate is the significant factor that impacts the performance, quality control and production capacity of this unit and it must be maintained within 0.5 - 3mm. The gap adjustment is achieved through the change of shim thickness between the impeller and main shaft. Where the gap adjustment is required, measure the gap with gauge plug first and the increase or decrease is the difference of adjusting shim thickness. To adjust the gap, remove the center 3-M12 bolts of the blade, remove the center M20 hexagon socket head bolt, take down the impeller gland, replace the proper shims and assemble them again.

The sieve plate is made of Q235 plate and designed to be full screen mesh. The sieve diameter should be chosen according to the pulp to be treated, category of paper stock and process requirement from the following table.

The axial seal of main drive consists of stuffing box, water ring, stuffing and gland etc. To avoid shaft abrade, shaft sleeve protection is provided at the part where the shaft passes through the stuffing chamber through wear resistant material. During operation, fill clear water of 0.1 - 0.2MPa in the stuffing chamber for lubricating and cooling. The stuffing tightness should allow about 5 drops of water per minute. A water tray is arranged at the lower of stuffing chamber to discharge the drop water.

V-belt drive: the coupling of motor grooved pulley and large grooved pulley inner bore and shaft adopts taper quilt cover structure to facilitate installation and removal.

This unit falls into intermittent and continuous type. In terms of structure, pulp level box is available for the continuous type unit and unavailable for the intermittent type unit. The function of pulp level box is to maintain a certain pulp level in the tank.
