What are the essential advantages of composite LPG cylinders compared to steel/alu tanks?

  • Up to 50% weight reduction with same tank capacity
  • Gas level is always visible thanks to translucent (light-transmissive) cylinder
  • No rust (like e.g. with steel cylinders)
  • No explosion risk under fire or bullet shot.

Composite LPG cylinders (thermally cured) are already successfully used in many countries.

What is the novelty of COIA's system?

We have more than 25 years experience with manufacturing and processing of composites and fast cure resins using eco-friendly UV-technology.

This allows an energy saving of ~ 95% and space saving of ~ 99% in the curing area towards the conventional manufacturing of (thermally cured fibre composites) gas cylinders, what finally has also positive effects on the manufacturing costs and sales price. Our patent pending concept shall reach a yearly production quantity of 350.000 – 400.000 cylinders.

The current yearly capacity of the conventional (expensive and environmentally harmful) thermo system is approx. 1.5 million pieces. The worldwide yearly demand for LPG tanks however is 100 million pieces.
